Muara Teweh, City of Water

City Water Muara Teweh, is the capital of North Barito regency predominantly derived from Bakumpai Dayak tribes, sub-ethnic Dayaks in Barito who embraced Islam. A small town surrounded by forests and elongated shape following the flow of this river is the only city in the countryside crowded Barito River, which divides the island of Borneo Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, to the highway Joyless District, Central Kalimantan.

As a city of water, Muara Teweh presents a unique view. In this small town, there are quite a lot of floating houses, lined up along the banks of the Barito River. Such type of house can be considered as local wisdom in dealing with flood hazards.Because of flooding in Muara Teweh generally a puddle, not a flood, so any flooding occurring as high as would not drown these homes.

Along the river, visitors will also find a charming natural scenery.Watching the lush green forest and Kalimantan, as well as listen to specific songs of the animals that live in it is a valuable experience that may not be experienced in other places. By using the services of a motorcycle taxi speed boat, visitors can enjoy the unlimited beauty of natural scenery along the Barito River flow. Visitors need not worry about the price offered, because there is no official price for this transportation tool, so visitors can be offered. In general, large-small cost incurred depends on the distance desired by visitors
