Gunung Leusser National Park


Gunung Leuser National Park is one of Indonesia's Natural Conservation Area covering an area of 1,094,692 hectares which are located in two administrative province of South Aceh and North Sumatra. This forest is blessed with tropical fruits like mangoes, rambutan, durian, avocado, orange, papaya, and guava. The other part is located in east Aceh, south Aceh, North Sumatra and Langkat, known by the world-class coffee and tobacco. Most visitors usually start their adventure in this national park through Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra, where you always can find orangutans. Discover the softness of these primates when you hang out with them.

Gunung Leuser National Park has the highest peak (3381 m), is one of the largest national park and most diverse in Indonesia, covering an area of 7927 km2 in the northern tip of Sumatra, Indonesia. Listen to a variety of ecosystems, the park is actually a group of nature reserves and forests, such as: Nature Reserve Gunung Leuser, Kappi Nature Reserve, Nature Reserve Kluet, Sikundur-Langkat Wildlife Reserve, Ketambe Research Station, West Singkil, and Dolores Sembilin.

This park is very broad, including mangrove forests, swamp forests, lowland rain forest, moss forest, and up to subalpine forest.When crossing incredible scenery, the true adventurer like you will not be disappointed when you explore this park.

Gunung Leuser National Park covers more than 100 kilometers of the Bukit Barisan Mountains, known for its condition of steep, mountainous terrain that is almost inaccessible. The altitude ranges from the coastal region in Kluet (South Aceh), which is 3381 meters above the Gunung Leuser (Southeast Aceh). Alas river cuts the park is amazing to be part of the east and west, where the adrenaline you are thirsty for captivating views of tropical forests will be fulfilled

 
Only about 130 species that can be identified in the park.Sumatran tigers, elephants, rhinos, gibbons, monkeys, leopards, reptiles, fish, and some 325 bird species among wild animals known to inhabit this park. The trip to the garden is more than just a big adventure to the zoo. Come and visit to a small village Ketambe friendly, where local residents naturally have knowledge of plants.
